The iBuild Showcase is Kansas City’s premier regional construction industry career day for both middle school and high school students. More than 1,000 students attended the 2010 iBuild Showcase at MCC Business and Technology College on April 27, 2010. The annual iBuild Showcase is sponsored by the National Institute for Construction Excellence.
Contractors and craft unions from nearly all of the construction trades will have interactive
programs for the students, as will construction suppliers, customers and educators. Students will try their hands at skills such as painting, bricklaying, estimating and walking on an I-Beam. They will meet and talk with industry professionals and see real-life demonstrations of construction equipment. High school students can participate in mock job interviews at the event - just in time for summer vacation.
